Ashley HuppJune 6, 2023We had the best experience with DogWatch. We were referred by my in-laws who have two Great Danes and had a fence installed this year by them. We have 2 huskies who are like family to us so we were very nervous about an electric fence system and didn’t want them to be in pain. But, after the great things we were told by our in laws we decided it was the best option for us with our acre of land and letting them roam and enjoy themselves. Installation took maybe an hour for our whole property. Luckily our dogs learned quickly not to go near the flags and we’ve had no issues at all. Even with their high prey drive and all the animals that visit (deer, rabbits, mice, all of them) they haven’t tried to go through it. Highly recommend!! Chantal IrishAugust 26, 2022The photo on that other post is scary but I love my dog watch fence. We have lived in two homes in the area and have installed in both. We had initially used a different company and they had no correction tone for the dogs. It frightened them. So we installed this fence (yes, we bought a new system for the whole house) and love it. Our dogs get it. I have 2 small pups and a large dog. I can change the amount of correction they get. I have been using dog watch for 3 years without any issues. The batteries last quite a while as well… almost a year. Many dogs in our neighborhood have this fence. Only downfall is that they do not provide a “dog secured by underground fence” sign which freaks the neighbors out a bit when the big dog comes running. DogWatch Indoor Pet Fences emit a radio signal that is detected by the receiver collar worn by your pet—the same way the outdoor hidden fence systems work. As your pet approaches the signal field (initially marked with a series of flags to help your pet identify the area), the receiver collar begins to emit an audible (or vibration) warning beep. If your pet goes beyond the warning zone, the warning is quickly followed by a ‘correction’— a mild electrical stimulation from the receiver collar. With proper training, your pet will quickly learn to stay away from areas that he associates with the warning.
The status light on the transmitter lets you know if the transmitter is turned on.
On the MB-1, the status light also lets you know the status of the transmitter battery. If the light is red, the battery needs to be charged. See Owner’s Guide for additional information.
Note: The green light may be steady green or blinking green. This depends on the frequency setting of the transmitter.
On the back of the transmitter, there is a signal range knob.
- Turn the knob toward the ‘+’ to increase the signal range. This increases the size of the signal field.
- Turn the knob toward the ‘-’ to decrease the signal range. This decreases the size of the signal field.
You do not need separate collars. Use the same collar inside and outside.
The battery life of the MB-1 is determined, in part, by the rate setting and the range setting you select. The rate setting determines how frequently the signal is transmitted (fast, medium or slow.) The range setting is the distance the signal radiates from the transmitter. (See Owner’s Guide for additional information.)
When set at maximum range, the life of the battery charge is approximately:
- 4 days in ‘Fast’
- 7 days in ‘Medium’
- 30 days in ‘Slow’
Decreasing the range setting will increase the average battery life between charges.
The MB-1 can be adjusted up to a maximum of 8 feet in diameter (4 feet in all directions from the transmitter.)
Important: Do not set the transmitter on or near large metal objects.
